About  Zo's  Summer  Groove
The Miami Heat's Alonzo Mourning hosted his fifth annual Zo's Summer Groove this past July in Miami, Florida. With the participation of many of his friends from the basketball, entertainment and corporate communities, Zo's Summer Groove has quickly established itself as one of the premier charity events in the country.

     Zo's Summer Groove 4 consisted of the Zo's Summer Groove Golf Classic, the Lucent Technologies "Mega Groove" Concert, Publix Presents An Evening in Paradise, Zo's Block Party, the Carnival Cruise Lines All-Star Basketball Game and the ZSG Rap Session.

      In the past five years, participants in the annual event have included such big NBA names as Vince Carter, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson, Jason Williams, Stephon Marbury, Tracy McGrady, Ray Allen, Dikembe Mutombo, Charles Barkley, Damon Stoudamire and many more. Celebrity participants have included Sisqo, Ginuwine, Deborah Cox, Faith Evans, Hootie & The Blowfish, Evander Holyfield, Jermaine Dupri, Wyclef Jean, Warren G., Lenny Kravitz, Tyrese and Chris Rock among others.

     The Alonzo Mourning Charitable Fund at the Dade Community Foundation was founded in 1997 and has generated over one and a half million dollars in cash and economic benefits for the City of Miami, Children's Home Society and 100 Black Men of South Florida. As Zo's Summer Groove enters its sixth year, Alonzo's goal is to increase corporate participation, attendance and generate even more funds and benefits for the charities.
